Board & Management
The members are represented by a Board of Directors which is responsible for
the general management of the school. Board
members are elected annually at the Annual General Meeting, usually held in
March. Under the Articles, one third of all Board Members resign at the Annual
General Meeting and any member (including retiring Board Members) can nominate
for election to the Board. Members of the current year's Board and their
respective areas of responsibility are shown on the Annual Update sheet for the
current year.
The Board generally meets monthly on the first Wednesday of the month.
The Principal and the Business Manager attend all Board
meetings. All members of the Society are welcome to attend in accordance
with the Constitution. (Note that the Chairman has the
discretion to close Board meetings during discussion of personal or sensitive
matters. It is the Board's policy not to discuss individual children, staff or
parents at open meetings.)
Minutes of Board meetings (excluding confidential matters) are available
for inspection by members after approval at the following meeting, in the school
office. A summary is placed on the Notice Boards at both sites within one week following a Board Meeting.
The objectives of the Society are set out in its Strategic Plan, and these
are reviewed annually in order to develop a Business Plan for the five years ahead.
