School Bus

Northside Montessori School has access to a dedicated school bus service that runs from Pennant Hills Railway Station Interchange to the Northside Campus at 42 Bobbin Head Road, Pymble. The bus route travels through Thornleigh, Wahroonga, Turramurra and Pymble.

The service is operated by the private bus company Shorelink.

All children who are attending the equivalent of K-2 (i.e. extended days and years 1 and 2 of Primary) are eligible to receive a free bus pass that is subsidised by the NSW State Government.  Children in years 3-6 who live more than 1.6 kilometres from school are eligible for a free bus pass that is subsidised by the NSW State Government.  An application form (available from the school office) must be completed and processed via the school administration.  The bus pass is sent to the school and sent home with child.  If a child is not eligible for free travel, a discounted Student Travel Pass can be purchased from Shorelink.

There is an enforced code of conduct for bus travel that is attached to the application form or you can read it on the Shorelink web page.  It is important that this code is read to your child so they are aware of correct bus conduct.  The bus company does not hesitate to remove bus passes or children who break the code.

The bus route was changed in July 2004, to accommodate families living in South Turramurra. There may be future opportunities for route modifications if student numbers warrant it.

A Brilliant Idea!  - from a Northside News article March 11, 2002

One mother who uses the bus three days a week, as well as giving the school a copy of the timetable, has laminated a copy that stays in her daughter’s schoolbag.  In this way there is no confusion.
