Bursaries
From time to time, Northside Montessori Society offers bursaries for part or full assistance for basic Tuition Fees for students.
Bursaries are awarded on the basis of means testing and a strong commitment
to the Montessori education system. The bursaries continue while the
student is in attendance at Northside Montessori School, as long as the bursary
criteria continue to be met. Bursaries are reviewed annually.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Pre-Primary Bursary
Applications are invited for a Northside Montessori School Aboriginal/Torres
Strait Islander Pre-Primary Bursary to be offered in 2009. This bursary is being
offered to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders who are keen to give their
children a Montessori education, but would not otherwise be able to afford the
school fees. One bursary is available for children 3 years to 3 years and
9 months.
A Montessori education provides a unique environment that nurtures
confidence, responsibility and independent learning at each child's own rate of
development.
Full or partial tuition fee remission is awarded to the successful applicant
beginning in Term 1 2009. The initial bursary is for
3 years (comprising the 3-6 cycle); the child's continued attendance at
Northside Montessori School is reviewed at this time. Bursaries are
reviewed annually.
Criteria for deciding the bursary include financial need, a strong commitment
to the Montessori education system and Aboriginality.
